  • Hannah offers free complimentary phone consultations to prospective patients to answer any questions you may have and to learn about Hannah’s approach.

    Treatment prices range from $65-$135. Treatment packages are also available at a reduced price per treatment. You can see a full breakdown of our pricing here.

  • Acupuncture and Sports Acupuncture Sessions begin with a comprehensive discussion to determine the best course of treatment based on your unique case. After discussion, we delve into treatment using a variety of therapies such as acupuncture, massage, and cupping.

    Herbal Consultations begin with a comprehensive discussion of your medical history and health goals to determine the best treatment strategy. Based on the discussion, Hannah will write you a personalized Chinese herbal formula. The first consultation lasts 60 minutes, and follow-up consultations are 30 minutes.

  • The number and frequency of treatments will depend on the condition being treated and its severity. During our first consultation + treatment, we gather health information, establish a treatment plan, and prescribe an herbal formula (as necessary).

    New clients should expect to follow up in a series of treatments until an obvious change is made. Booking three to four subsequent visits is recommended to gain momentum with treatment. With more chronic, complex cases, it can take a handful of treatments to begin to understand an illness pattern.

    Hannah will discuss a treatment plan and guide you on the results you can expect. Often, patients will notice relief from a specific symptom straight away, though more time may be needed to work on the underlying root of the issue.

  • Yes! Chinese medicine complements standard medical care and offers excellent alternatives when needed through acupuncture, bodywork, herbal medicine, and dietary therapy.

  • Point Acupuncture has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Appointments altered within 24 hours of the scheduled treatment time will result in a $65 fee.

    If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible by changing your appointment through the patient portal, contacting us by phone at 207-358-3615, or emailing us at hannah@pointacupuncture.com.

  • We do not process insurance in-house; however, we are happy to email you a receipt with the necessary coding for you to submit to your provider. We recommend checking with your insurance company to see if you are covered for acupuncture and, if so, for what specific conditions.

    *Medicare covers up to 12 acupuncture visits in 90 days for chronic low back pain. If you show improvement, they will cover an additional 8 sessions. You can get a maximum of 20 acupuncture treatments in a 12-month period.

  • Ideally, comfortable, loose-fitting clothes. If you need to undress, you will have privacy to take off any items of clothing, and you will be provided with appropriate ways to cover up.

  • It depends on your interest in herbs and your condition. Herbs are a profound way to affect change in the body. Herbal formulas are mostly prescribed for internal medicine issues, such as digestion, painful menses, or the common cold.
