Hannah Dietz
Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
Licensed Acupuncturist
Hannah’s exposure to Chinese medicine began at a young age. Her aunt was an acupuncturist, so she grew up with acupuncture, bodywork, and the holistic approach to health that Chinese medicine believes in. Hannah also attended Waldorf School for many years, where Rudolf Steiner’s educational philosophy instilled a deep interest in the natural world. The realization that we are a microcosm of nature gave her a deeper appreciation for the philosophies surrounding Chinese medicine. Early exposure to acupuncture and bodywork and a reverence for the natural world inspired Hannah to study Chinese medicine to bring these ideals into a capacity of helping others.
Hannah graduated from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in 2020 with a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese medicine. As an athlete, she found the field of orthopedics to be one of the most exciting and applicable courses in both her Masters and Doctorate programs at Daoist Traditions. As a lifelong equestrian, competitive gravel cyclist, and mountain biker, she had dealt with many sports-related injuries. After experiencing firsthand the efficacy of orthopedic acupuncture for acute and chronic physical injury, Hannah was eager to learn more about healing faster and performing better using a holistic understanding of the body. Not only did treatments speed her recovery from injuries, but she also found orthopedic acupuncture to be highly effective at helping the body maintain conditioning and preventing future injuries.
After graduating from Daoist Traditions, Hannah completed an internship at The Alternative Clinic, studying directly under Andrew & JulieAnn Nugent-Head. Andrew & JulieAnn are world renound Chinese medicine practitioners and teachers dedicated to preserving China’s traditional knowledge. Upon completion, Hannah was hired and continued to learn and work alongside Andrew and JulieAnn at The Alternative Clinic for two years before returning to private practice in Portland, ME.
Hannah offers acupuncture, bodywork, customized herbal prescriptions, and dietary therapy to treat a wide variety of medical concerns. She specializes in sports medicine and women’s health. Hannah is excited to share her passion for health & wellness with others and help them reach their goals and full potential through Chinese medicine.
